Can I allow a dog in my gym?

There is no exclusion in the CrossFit RRG policy regarding claims arising out of the act of a canine or any other pet.  If you decide to allow an animal at the gym, we recommend that they are leashed and separated from the area where athletes are performing Olympic lifts or any other athletic movement.  It may also be helpful to reference the CrossFit Journal article, "Gym Dogs and Liability," written by former CrossFit RRG Board Member and former owner of CrossFit Evolution, Monique Ames.

With regard to service dogs, we advise that you contact a local attorney who can provide guidance regarding the legal requirements for service dogs and laws in your area.
